Yamamoto Goes Wild, But Raiders Win
|
Silver Lake second baseman Kazuki Yamamoto was sensational. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Reno beat the Baristas, 9-7. Yamamoto was named the player of the game despite the loss. Théophile Richard was the winning pitcher. Over 5.1 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 6 hits, with 4 walks and 1 strikeout. Diego Contreras got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.
Reno designated hitter Matsudaira Sato delivered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Sato said.
The Raiders bumped their record to 67-63 with this latest triumph.
