Wright, Phantoms Too Much for Bombers
|
The Bronx Bombers and Coronado Phantoms met at Bronx Ballpark to settle a score.
The Coronado Phantoms powered past the Bronx Bombers, 11-9, at Bronx Ballpark. Leonard Wright went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4, to lead the charge. Coronado, now 48-78, holds last place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
Wright had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Yasuhiko Ito, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Phantoms a 11-9 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Wright.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Wright.
