Sasquatch Get Road Win, 4-1
|
Matt Nolan pitched a gem to lead Seattle to a 4-1 victory over the San Francisco Earthquakes. Nolan, now 3-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run. Gabresilassie Cherono got credit for the save for Seattle. It was his 6th of the year.
The Sasquatch had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 4-1, Seattle, with no one out. San Francisco, with a runner on 1st, was mounting a threat. Jorge Zamora dug in at the plate, but on a full count changeup, he flied out.
The Earthquakes, now 13-16, continue their slow start.
