The Vancouver Canadians got a stellar performance from pitcher Wilson Polk, who handcuffed the Albuquerque offense en route to a 3-2 win at Stanley Park. Polk picked up the win for Vancouver, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. The 4th-place Canadians are now 63-64, the Cacti 80-47.
Matthew Bauer, who is tied for 8th in the NAL in doubles with 25, aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Polk.
