The Detroit Death Stars defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-4, at The Death Star today. Leading the charge for Detroit was first baseman Shinji Kakuta. He was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. Patrick Charbonnier got credit for the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings. The Death Stars bumped their record to 66-56 with this latest triumph.

Kakuta had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the second inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Death Stars went on to win.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Kakuta.
