Hernandez, Caterpillars Get 3-1 Win
|
Foothills Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Calgary Kodiaks and Peoria Caterpillars.
Peoria right-hander Victor Hernandez made an effective start against the Calgary Kodiaks at Foothills Stadium, leading his team to a 3-1 win. Peoria, at 60-62, occupies third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
Hernandez's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 6.1 innings while allowing 2 hits. Hernandez, who is rated as the 30th best prospect by BNN, goes to 3-6 on the year with 94 strikeouts.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Peoria skipper Roberto Martínez.
