Paczkis designated hitter Fernando Luján put his stamp on his team's 3-2 win over the Vancouver Canadians. Luján was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Canton in the contest. The winner was Tom Cropper, who threw 87 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits. P.J. Ross converted his 21st save in 26 tries.
Luján contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Canton in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Luján took a fastball from Pedro Pérez and stroked the home run to left-center. His 10th home run of the season allowed the Paczkis to leap in front, 3-1.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Luján. "And not try to do too much."
The Paczkis bumped their record to 59-59 with this latest triumph.
