Xiang Lifts Kodiaks to 9-4 Triumph
|
The rain at Cobb Field did not keep Calgary and Billings from finishing their game.
Kodiaks first baseman Jang-lu Xiang put his stamp on his team's 9-4 win over the Billings Mustangs. Xiang was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times for Calgary in the contest. The winner was Bernard Edgar, who threw 79 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 2 hits.
The Kodiaks got a big at-bat from right fielder Bill O'Brien. For the game, O'Brien went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 81st hit of the season gave Calgary a 2-0 lead.
