Antioch first baseman Scott McFarland played a vital role in his team's 9-5 triumph over Peoria. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for Antioch. The win was Orlando Garza's in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Julián Diéguez took the loss for Peoria.

The Coal Miners took the lead, 6-5, in the bottom of the sixth. Jim Commo had the clutch at-bat. With one out and the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Commo told the Antioch Citizen.

The Coal Miners bumped their record to 69-50 with this latest triumph.
