Phantoms Jolt Cacti with Late Rally

The Coronado Phantoms did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Albuquerque Cacti at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Enrique Galván, who captured player of the game honors. Galván went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-5. The win boosts the Phantoms to 42-75. The loss puts the Cacti at 76-43.
Coronado designated hitter Andy Hegarty delivered a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, including 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and batted in 2.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Galván told the Coronado Times.
