Both teams had their chances, but the Chicago Titans eventually prevailed at Top of the Hill.
The Chicago Titans did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Bowling Green Racers at Top of the Hill. Nobody did more than center fielder Daniel Hockley, who captured player of the game honors. The win was Jorge Ramírez's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Masamichi Takeda took the loss for Bowling Green. Paul Murat earned his 1st save in 2 chances.
Had Manolo González not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, González hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Titans.
Hockley attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Chicago is now 53-66, while Bowling Green is 67-53.
