Banditos Jolt Baristas with Late Rally
|
Silver Lake pitcher Douggie Pitchford gave the Banditos all they could handle, but in the end, Acapulco left Underdogs Ballpark with a 5-4 win. Pitchford allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings. Acapulco is now 50-68, while Silver Lake is 55-61.
The Banditos were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when pinch hitter Jeremy Guis turned a 1-0 changeup from Van Perry into a 2-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Acapulco a thrilling 5-4 win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Guis told the Acapulco Daily News.
