Victory Pushes Texans Record to 15-14
|
Fans who gathered at McNichols Stadium saw a good contest between the Dallas Texans and Mile High Mustangs.
The Texans grabbed a win, 5-3, at McNichols Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Mile High pitcher Ross Allan. Allan went 9 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Benjamin Piece was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Adrien Clément finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Had Shunso Kichida not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Kichida hit a 2-run triple. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Texans.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Kichida.
The loss drops Mile High to 15-12.
