Caterpillars first baseman Kosaku Yasuda put his stamp on his team's 5-3 win over the Bronx Bombers. Yasuda was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Peoria in the contest. Peoria reliever Gusti Kusuma picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-1. Javier Franco was collared with the loss. Adam Stickells was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 10 save opportunities.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when second baseman Antony Porter drew a walk. The Caterpillars went on to win.

Yasuda attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

Peoria now sits in third place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League at 57-59.
