Bumblebees Turn Back Minneapolis, 4-2
|
Minneapolis got a terrific game from right fielder Tony Littler. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Pasadena, 4-2. Littler was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. Pasadena reliever Antonio Bayuga was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Yaichiro Tamura. Barend Bilderbeek got the save, his 1st in 1 chances.
Cory McIver aided the Pasadena cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman went 1-3 with a home run.
"We take it day by day here," said McIver, "and today was a good one for us."
At 47-66, Pasadena is in last place in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
