Big Day by Hayagawa Ignites Escape Win
|
The Scranton Escape defeated the Acapulco Banditos, 8-6, at Hell Stadium. Scranton left fielder Masujiro Hayagawa was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Scranton reliever Robert Cook was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Ross Astbury. Scranton now sits in last place in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division at 45-67.
Tom Cherry chipped in for Scranton with a grand slam home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 5 RBI.
