The Vancouver Canadians stopped the Fort Worth Cats, 3-2, at Stanley Park. The Canadians got a big game from Aki Daijo, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times. The winner was Vancouver reliever James Woodard, now 4-4. The loser was Moos Teunisse. Hou-kang Li earned his 8th save in 10 chances.

Had Robert Mentzer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mentzer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Canadians.

"We were in it," said Fort Worth manager Lowell Wise. "We just didn't score enough runs."
