Raiders Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Reno Raiders defeated the Billings Mustangs, 2-1, in Darryl Kile League action at Cobb Field, with Reno pitcher Mike Steveson named player of the game. The Raiders bumped their record to 56-55 with this latest triumph.
Steveson, who dominated for Reno, earned the victory to move to 8-8. He was in control the whole game, scattering 8 hits over 11 innings, while striking out 9. Billings batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Steveson said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
