The Albuquerque Cacti beat the Acapulco Banditos, 9-1, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Donald Stevens, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Acapulco has now lost 4 in a row.

Stevens had a big at-bat with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a grand slam. The Cacti went on to win.
