Victory Pushes Freeze Record to 59-50
|
Minneapolis played host to Calgary at the friendly confines of The Ice Box.
Minneapolis Freeze starter Drstasara Sahni was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Calgary Kodiaks, 5-2. The winner was Minneapolis reliever Sylvester Richardson, now 2-0. The loser was Bernard Edgar. Pedro García, credited with the save, is now 20 for 22 in save opportunities.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Miguel Olberos. For the game, Olberos was 1-1 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 25th double of the season gave Minneapolis a 4-2 lead.
"We did a lot of things right," said Olberos.
The Freeze bumped their record to 59-50 with this latest triumph.
