Fans who gathered at Top of the Hill saw a good contest between the Vancouver Canadians and Bowling Green Racers.

The Vancouver Canadians bested the Bowling Green Racers by a score of 6-4, with left fielder Robert Mentzer getting the main credit. On the day, Mentzer went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs for the Canadians. Javier Ballina got credit for the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6 innings. Manuel Martínez earned his 4th save in 4 chances.

A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Horiuchi Rin drew a walk. The Canadians went on to win.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Mentzer said.

Vancouver, at 51-55, sits in 5th place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
