Fireballs Squelch Mustangs Offense in Shutout Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Joplin Fireballs and the Billings Mustangs, Carlos Mendoza was the difference-maker. The Joplin right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-0 win. Mendoza got the win, improving to 9-9. He allowed 7 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Mendoza allowed no earned runs. Billings, at 51-56, has lost 7 straight.
