Racers Mow Down Canadians, 9-2
|
The Bowling Green Racers got a stellar performance from pitcher Toshikazu Yokoyama, who handcuffed the Vancouver offense en route to a 9-2 win at Top of the Hill. Bowling Green reliever Toshikazu Yokoyama was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Pedro Pérez took the loss for Vancouver. The Racers bumped their record to 59-49 with this latest triumph.
The Racers got a big at-bat from center fielder Juan López. For the game, López went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 100th hit of the season gave Bowling Green a 2-1 lead.
"Feels good to get the job done," Yokoyama said after the game.
