Getting a good performance from first baseman Milton Cloarec, the Scranton Escape defeated the Coronado Phantoms, 2-1. Cloarec went 1-3 with a home run and a walk for the Escape. The winner was Scranton reliever Taylor MacRuer, now 2-3. The loser was Jeff Hodge. Máximo Larreta earned his 13th save in 18 chances.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Ashton Hairston drew a walk. The Escape went on to win.
Hairston called the win "a collective effort."
Scranton, now 43-62, holds last place in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
