The Peoria Caterpillars picked up a win at Excavatar Park, knocking off the Pasadena Bumblebees, 3-2. On the mound for Peoria was right-hander Morihiro Hashimoto, who played a pivotal role in the win. Luis Domínguez, credited with the win, is now 5-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Adam Stickells notched his 6th save in 8 chances.
Had Antony Porter not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Porter hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Caterpillars.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Hashimoto told the Peoria Bulletin.
The win boosts the Caterpillars to 51-53. The loss puts the Bumblebees at 41-62.
