Coal Miners Score Late, Stun Raiders, 4-2

The Antioch Coal Miners picked up a win at House of Pain, knocking off the Reno Raiders, 4-2. On the mound for Antioch was right-hander Takeji Ogawa, who played a pivotal role in the win. George Fortin Jr., credited with the win, is now 10-4. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Zak Osborn got the save, his 5th in 8 chances.
Had Scott McFarland not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, McFarland hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Coal Miners.
"We'll enjoy this win," said McFarland. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The first-place Coal Miners have a one-game lead in their division.
