Victory Pushes Mustangs Record to 51-49
|
The Billings Mustangs topped the Fairfield Flash, 6-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The player of the game was Billings pitcher and Leeds, England native Owen Dand. Dand, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 earned run. The Mustangs bumped their record to 51-49 with this latest triumph.
Itsuka Arakaki aided the Billings cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 2 with a walk.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Arakaki. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
