Banditos Win at Minneapolis, 10-7
|
Acapulco and Minneapolis duked it out at The Ice Box and the Banditos came out victorious.
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Tony Hayes, the Acapulco Banditos defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 10-7. Hayes was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Banditos. Denny Goodwin was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
Despite the loss, the Banditos got an encouraging performance from 22-year-old Wang Huang. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a 2-run double to make the score 10-7, Minneapolis.
"It's not easy for a young guy to go out there and perform," Banditos manager Salvador López said. "But he did it like one of the vets."
The 5th-place Banditos now have a win-loss record of 40-56.
