Raptors Get Close Win Over Cacti
|
The Omaha Raptors grabbed a 7-5 win over the Albuquerque Cacti at Anchorage Municipal Stadium. Omaha left fielder Shoji Ando was 3-4 with a triple and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 to earn player of the game honors. Jason Engel notched his 20th save in 25 chances. The Raptors bumped their record to 54-43 with this latest triumph.
Had Xiao-peng Chuang not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Chuang hit a 2-run single. That made the score 7-5, in favor of the Raptors.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Omaha manager Jim Fernández.
