Canadians Fall Short, 5-4, at Albuquerque
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Albuquerque fans at Albuquerque Sports Stadium.
The Albuquerque Cacti bested the Vancouver Canadians, 5-4, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. Damian Ballesteros was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times. Hisataro Sato was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 32 of 35 save opportunities.
Omar McKoy, who is rated as the 11th best prospect by BNN, aided the Albuquerque cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the second. For the game, the left fielder was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Both teams played hard," said Albuquerque manager Tom Robertson.
The first-place Cacti have won 5 straight.
