The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Billings Mustangs, 8-7 at Cobb Field, in part due to designated hitter Eric Daniels, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Rahmad Bintang got the win, improving to 1-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The Mustangs, now 46-48, have lost 5 straight.

Daniels had a key at-bat for Peoria early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and gave Peoria an early 3-0 lead.
