Victory Over Banditos Takes Fairfield to 63-27
|
Fairfield pitcher Joe Gillard did his part in helping his team beat the Acapulco Banditos, 6-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Gillard picked up the win for Fairfield, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 11-5. Gabriel Bernard got the save, his 5th in 5 chances.
The Flash had to work out of trouble in the top of the eighth. The score was 6-3, Fairfield, with one out. Acapulco, with runners on 1st and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Rhett Cawse dug in at the plate, but on a 1-2 fastball, he struck out.
