There was no shortage of dramatics at Durham Bulls Athletic Park today.
In a tight contest at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, the Fairfield Flash edged the Acapulco Banditos by the score of 4-3. Fairfield right fielder Qian Thean, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Fairfield improves to 62-27 with the win. They lead their division by 14½ games.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Fairfield trailing 3-2, Gustavo Hernández hit a fastball from Curtis Cahill to right-center for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Flash had a walk-off win.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Thean, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
