In a tight contest at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, the Canton Paczkis edged the Albuquerque Cacti by the score of 6-5. Canton catcher Masakazu Ishikawa, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Canton reliever Jeremiah Horne picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-1. Izumo Ikarashi was collared with the loss. P.J. Ross got the save, his 17th in 21 chances.

Ishikawa had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 1-0 sinker from Izumo Ikarashi, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Paczkis a 6-5 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Ishikawa.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Ishikawa, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

The Paczkis bumped their record to 47-43 with this latest triumph.
