|
The Albuquerque Cacti topped the Coronado Phantoms, 9-3, in Nick Adenhart League action at Phantoms Field. The player of the game was Albuquerque pitcher Dino De Buono. De Buono went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 6-5. Albuquerque is now 58-32, 11 games up in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
The Cacti got a big at-bat from left fielder Omar McKoy. For the game, McKoy went 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the seventh, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 46th hit of the season gave Albuquerque a 4-2 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," McKoy said.
