Argonauts Prevail, 4-2, Over Bronx
|
The Astoria Argonauts topped the Bronx Bombers, 4-2, in Darryl Kile League action at Golden Fleece Park. The player of the game was Astoria designated hitter Yaichiro Yokoyama. Astoria reliever Kagetoki Ohayashi picked up the win to move to 8-0. Dost Ghuman suffered the loss. Carlos Alonzo earned his 15th save in 17 chances.
Yokoyama had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Argonauts went on to win.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Astoria manager Bernard Jacq. "It's usually not just one thing."
At 39-50, the Argonauts are currently last in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League.
