Banditos Win in Extras
|
The Acapulco Banditos beat the Silver Lake Baristas, 6-5 at Ashton Gate, in part due to second baseman Steve Parker, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Acapulco reliever Curtis Cahill picked up the win to move to 3-4. Silvino Fagundo suffered the loss. Acapulco is in 5th place in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division with a record of 38-50.
The Banditos got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Rhett Cawse. For the game, Cawse was 1 for 1. In the top of the 12th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 43rd hit of the season gave Acapulco a 6-5 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Parker told the Acapulco Daily News.
