Peoria right-hander Alan Gorringe made an effective start against the Astoria Argonauts at Excavatar Park, leading his team to a 4-3 win. Peoria reliever Adam Stickells was credited with the win, to go to 2-1. Kyoji Kato took the loss for Astoria. The Caterpillars bumped their record to 44-42 with this latest triumph.

The Caterpillars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Hiyutaro Ushijima. For the game, Ushijima went 1-4 with a double. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Peoria a 4-3 lead.

"I felt good up there," said Ushijima. "I saw the ball well."
