Titans Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Flash
The Fairfield Flash got a superb performance from pitcher Yeong-suk Kim. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Titans won the game, 2-1. In spite of the loss, Kim was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball. With the win over Fairfield, the Titans improved to 39-48.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Virgil Ayliffe was at the plate when Chicago scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Titans to go in front, 2-1.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Fairfield skipper Gary Altman, "and it cost us."
