Cats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Canadians
Cats second baseman Freddy Garza put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the Vancouver Canadians. Garza went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Fort Worth in the contest. Fort Worth reliever Don Myers was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Hou-kang Li took the loss for Vancouver. Bobby Saxon notched his 24th save in 27 chances.

The Cats got a big at-bat from third baseman Shimpei Fujita. For the game, Fujita was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Fort Worth a 6-5 lead.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Fort Worth manager Lowell Wise.

Fort Worth is now 39-47. Vancouver is 42-45.
