Behind a solid performance from second baseman Chris Schmidt, the Fort Worth Cats defeated the Vancouver Canadians, 6-4. Schmidt went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 3 times for the Cats. Bobby Saxon was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 23 of 26 save opportunities. The Cats go to 38-47, putting them 5th in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
Pablo Moreno hit a run-scoring triple off James Woodard in the top of the sixth, which put the Cats in front, 5-4. Moreno had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
"Enjoyed this one," Moreno told the Fort Worth Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
