The Bowling Green Racers overcame a good performance by Fairfield designated hitter Susumu Kono to knock off Fairfield, 9-7, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Kono went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Bowling Green reliever Nelson Cardona picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-5. Gabriel Bernard was collared with the loss. Sae-wan Yi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 16 save opportunities.

Doug Sanders, who was drafted in the two round of the 2031 draft, contributed to the Bowling Green win with a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We got the victory," said Sanders. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The Racers bumped their record to 45-42 with this latest triumph.
