Phantoms Win Thriller, 5-4
|
The Coronado Phantoms beat the Vancouver Canadians, 5-4, at Phantoms Field. Coronado third baseman Noriaki Hatsutori earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Coronado reliever Yoshino Nakagawa was the winner. His record is now 4-3. The losing pitcher was Manuel Martínez. Coronado now owns a record of 32-48.
Hongwu Huang was the walk-off hero for Coronado. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phantoms designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Put a star next to this win," Huang said.
