Victory Pushes Raiders Record to 42-39
The Reno Raiders beat the Joplin Fireballs, 5-2, at House of Pain. Reno first baseman Matsudaira Sato earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2-3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Mike Steveson earned the win for Reno. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 5-6. The Raiders bumped their record to 42-39 with this latest triumph.

Sato had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count curveball from Carlos Mendoza, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Raiders a 4-2 lead. It was the 11th double of the year for Sato.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Reno manager Chris Brading.
