Racers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Raiders
Bowling Green and Reno duked it out at House of Pain and the Racers came out victorious.

The Bowling Green Racers bested the Reno Raiders by a score of 9-6, with designated hitter Paul Rice getting the main credit. On the day, Rice went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Racers. Sae-wan Yi notched his 13th save in 15 chances.

Doug Sanders, who is tied for 8th in the NAL in RBI with 47, chipped in for Bowling Green with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We played hard and won," said Rice. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'

The Racers bumped their record to 44-40 with this latest triumph.
