López Excels, Scranton Blows Out Billings
|
Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Billings fans at Cobb Field. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Escape had to.
The Scranton Escape bested the Billings Mustangs by a score of 13-2, with shortstop Luis López getting the main credit. On the day, López was 4-5 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Escape. At 32-47, the Escape are currently last in the Nick Adenhart League Tony La Russa Division.
López came through with some timely hitting for Scranton. With the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth and one down, López hit a 1-2 fastball for a bases-clearing triple. His 3rd triple of the season made it 4-1, Scranton.
"We played hard and won," said López. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
