The Joplin Fireballs topped the Vancouver Canadians, 6-4, in Darryl Kile League action at The Firepit. The player of the game was Joplin pitcher and Canada native Clay Melsom. The Fireballs have now won 4 straight.

The Fireballs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when catcher Johnny Burt turned a first pitch fastball from Alexis Coates into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Joplin a thrilling 6-4 win.

Melsom told a Joplin Daily reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
