Freeze Win at Bowling Green, 5-2

The Minneapolis Freeze got a stellar performance from pitcher Kyoji Rin, who handcuffed the Bowling Green offense en route to a 5-2 win at Top of the Hill. In 5 innings, Rin surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 2 runs. Pedro García, credited with the save, is now 12 for 13 in save opportunities.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from catcher Reece Wager. For the game, Wager went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 4-2 lead.
"We played hard and won," said Rin. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
Minneapolis goes to 45-32. The win puts them 3½ games up in their division.
