Caterpillars Stay Hot, Beat Canadians

The Peoria Caterpillars beat the Vancouver Canadians, 9-5, at Stanley Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Masao Sakamoto, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Adam Stickells was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 2 save opportunities. The third-place Caterpillars have won 6 straight.
Sakamoto had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the third inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Caterpillars went on to win.
"This team is headed in the right direction," said Sakamoto.
