Argonauts Win at Fort Worth, 4-2
|
The Fort Worth Cats got a superb performance from pitcher Carlos Solís, but the Astoria Argonauts still won the game, 4-2. Solís was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 5 innings of 4-hit ball. Astoria reliever Kagetoki Ohayashi picked up the win, bumping his record to 6-0. Carlos Solís was collared with the loss. Today's win puts Astoria at 34-43, while Fort Worth falls to 36-42.
Yeong-il Kim, who was drafted in the two round of the 2023 draft, helped out the Astoria cause in the top of the seventh inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 5 with a double.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Fort Worth manager Lowell Wise. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
